As someone who has been obsessed with celebrities for as long as I can remember, I am always psyched when it comes to couple fashion, especially Megan Fox and MGK style inspo. Although they’re newer to the Hollywood power couple club, they have definitely followed the footsteps of power couples like the Beckhams, KimYe, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston (or Brad Pitt and any of his significant others, really) when it comes to coordinating outfits.
When Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox first got together, it surprised many. You have to admit, it’s a pretty unusual pairing when a punk-rock-slash-hip-hop star and one of the most iconic actresses in Hollywood start dating. Individually, they’re both huge risk-takers when it comes to style. MGK is often styled by Adam H Ballheim. He is seen rocking unique pieces of men’s jewelry and vibrant nail polish while Fox – well, let’s just say that she can rock anything, even her son’s T-shirts as a crop top. Recently, her looks have ranged from sweats and denim-wear to monochromatic ensembles, that are usually black, to effortlessly glamorous outfits – all often put together by her stylist, Maeve Reilly.
Personally, I love these two. I had only associated MGK with his hit, “Bad Things” featuring Camilla Cabello, until I spent the last half of 2020 playing his entire catalogue on repeat, which is evident in my Spotify Wrapped for 2020. As for Megan Fox, who doesn’t love her? That’s why I’m thrilled to go through some of their best looks with you! They have definitely made an impact when it comes to couple fashion, so be sure to save this for Megan Fox and MGK style inspo.
Bloody Valentine Music Video, 2020
Let’s go back to where it all started: the Bloody Valentine music video. Both Fox and MGK have brought back late 2000’s punk rock fashion and honestly, I would love to get my hands on Fox’s leather jacket from the scene where they’re jamming out. When this MV dropped in May 2020, it immediately sparked dating rumours. Why wouldn’t it? You can literally see sparks towards the end!
American Music Awards, 2020
The couple made their first public appearance at the AMAs 2020. When I think of “Megan Fox and MGK style inspo”, this is the first image that comes to mind. Styled by Adam H Ballheim, MGK wore a full white ensemble by Balmain and accessorised with pearls. The metallic silver boots give off such a futuristic vibe. On the other hand, Fox looked stunning as always in a green dress by Azzi & Osta and I have to admit, this has been one of my all-time favourite looks of hers!
Saturday Night Live hosted by John Krasinski saw MGK not only perform “My Ex’s Best Friend” and “Lonely” (the latter literally brought me to tears; you watch it for yourself here) but also hilariously fall off stage with Pete Davidson during a hug. The couple kept it casual as they entered NBC Studios for the taping, with MGK wearing a red and black sweatshirt, pants and sneakers. Fox, who was styled by Maeve Reilly, went for an orange snakeskin set by LaQuan Smith, a black leather trench coat by 3.1 Phillip Lim and black boots by Christian Louboutin.
Megan’s Birthday, 2021
This is a more mellow look on MGK’s part, compared to all his looks mentioned in the article, but he was sure to incorporate red to match with the birthday girl. Styled by Maeve Reilly, Fox wore another monochromatic look but this time, it came in a red Alex Perry suit. If you’re in the mood to rock a red lip too, check out our article on red lip looks that can never go wrong!
Billboard Music Awards, 2021
This year’s Billboard Music Awards was a big night for MGK, who won Best Rock Artist and Best Rock Album for Tickets To My Downfall. Styled by Adam H Ballheim, MGK wore a classic, black Balmain suit and a white shirt but that’s not all. His look was completed with a black and white checkered nails and a black tongue. Yup, you read that right. Fox, who was styled by Maeve Reilly, wore a sheer, black cut-out dress by Mugler with Jimmy Choo heels. Needless to say, both of their outfits complemented one another so well.
iHeartRadio Music Awards, 2021
As her stylist puts it, Fox looked like a “real life Barbie” at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards. Styled by Maeve Reilly, she wore a pink Mach & Mach jumpsuit. Her beaded, silver bow-style pumps, also by Mach & Mach, matched the beaded straps (those are straps right?) on her outfit as well as her purse. MGK, who won Best Alternative Rock Album for Tickets To My Downfall, was styled by Adam H Ballheim in Comme des Garcons. His silvery-white get-up did incorporate pink in his socks to match with Fox but what really caught my eye was his extra-long, coffin nails.
Megan Fox and MGK Style Inspo: Styling Tips For Stans
We’ve already established the fact that the couple makes a very fashionable duo so it’s natural for everyone to want to get style inspo from their looks. However, it’s not always possible to look this extra, especially if you’re on a budget. Therefore, here are some tips on how you can transform your own looks taking style inspo from some of their other wearable looks!
1. Trench Coats + Denim Jeans = ♡
You’ll probably be able to notice how Fox pairs different coats with denim jeans and I must say, she slays every time!
Whether it’s your birthday bash with Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker….
or a night out with Avril Lavigne and MODSUN….
you can give your whole outfit an edge by pairing it with accessories like MGK!
3. Match, But If You Can’t, Complement
You don’t have to twin, but you can try wearing the same print or patterns!
Or, incorporate the same colour in some way, like how Fox’s blue nails match the colour of MGK’s set.
And if you can’t match, complement! I do think this is a perfect date night look because somehow, MGK’s bold suit works so well with Fox’s LBD.
Shoutout to @thatboykells for helping me list the looks above!
4. Keep It Casual
This one’s pretty self-explanatory. Stick to the basics and be comfortable, like they were during this show. Sometimes, less is more!
